Ingredients

Main
  • 0.5 ounce bourbon whiskey
  • 0.5 ounce amaretto liqueur
  • 0.5 ounce beer any light lager or pilsner works best

Equipment

  • Shot glass (1.5 ounce)
  • Jigger or measuring spoon for precise pouring
  • Spoon (bar spoon or regular spoon with a rounded back)
  • Beer bottle or can

Method

  1. Place your shot glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes before starting.
  2. Measure 0.5 ounce of bourbon whiskey and pour it into the chilled shot glass as the base layer.
  3. Measure 0.5 ounce of amaretto liqueur into a jigger or measuring spoon.
  4. Hold a spoon horizontally over the shot glass with the rounded side facing down, just barely touching the bourbon. Slowly pour the amaretto over the back of the spoon so it layers on top without mixing.
  5. Open a fresh beer and measure 0.5 ounce into your jigger.
  6. Using the same spoon technique, pour the beer slowly over the back of the spoon onto the amaretto layer to float on top.
  7. Admire the three-layered shot before serving: bourbon on the bottom, amaretto in the middle, and beer on top.
  8. Drink immediately in one smooth motion to experience the layered flavors.

Notes

Chilling the shot glass and pouring slowly over the back of a spoon helps maintain the layers and enhances the drinking experience. Drink immediately after pouring to preserve the visual and flavor layering.
