Method
- Add 1/2 cup mayonnaise and 1/4 cup sour cream to a medium mixing bowl.
- Whisk in 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar and 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce and 1 teaspoon honey.
- Whisk in 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard, 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon onion powder, and 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper.
- Fold in 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives and 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley.
- Taste the dressing and adjust the salt and black pepper to your liking. If it tastes too acidic, add a touch more honey; if too creamy, add a squeeze more lemon juice.
- If the dressing is thicker than preferred, whisk in water one tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached; if too thin, add a tablespoon more mayonnaise.
- Allow the dressing to sit for 10 minutes at room temperature before serving to let flavors meld.
Notes
Use quality mayonnaise, chop fresh herbs finely, and adjust spice level as preferred. Store covered in the refrigerator up to one week. Shake or whisk before use.
