Ingredients

Main
  • 1 lime
  • 1 tablespoon Tajin seasoning or chili-lime salt mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce optional, adjust to taste
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 cold 12-ounce lager beer pale lager recommended
  • Pinch of sea salt if not using Tajin

Equipment

  • 12-ounce glass or beer glass
  • Ice or a freezer to chill the glass
  • Lime (fresh preferred)
  • Small shallow dish for the spice rim
  • Bottle opener
  • Bar spoon or regular spoon for stirring

Method

  1. Place your glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes before mixing, or fill it with ice while you prepare the other components.
  2. Pour Tajin seasoning into a shallow dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom. Cut your lime in half and rub the cut edge around the outer rim of your chilled glass.
  3. Hold the glass at a slight angle and roll the lime-wet rim through the Tajin, rotating gently so the seasoning adheres evenly on all sides.
  4. If you used a pre-chilled glass without ice, add fresh ice cubes now, filling the glass about three-quarters full.
  5. Pour the Worcestershire sauce into the glass, followed by the hot sauce if you're using it. Stir briefly to distribute these flavors evenly across the ice.
  6. Hold a lime half firmly and squeeze about 1 to 1.5 ounces of fresh juice directly into the glass.
  7. Open your cold beer and pour it slowly down the side of the glass to minimize excessive foam.
  8. Give the drink a gentle stir with a bar spoon to blend the flavors thoroughly. Taste and adjust hot sauce or lime juice as desired before serving.

Notes

Rim your glass with Tajin and add all other ingredients before opening the beer to keep it cold and carbonated. Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. Adjust hot sauce and salt to taste. Serve immediately for maximum carbonation and refreshment.
