Method
- Pour 1/2 cup of rolled oats into your blender, then add 3/4 cup of milk.
- Slice your banana in half and add it to the blender along with the oats and milk.
- Add 1 tablespoon of your chosen nut butter directly into the blender, placing it on top of the liquid for easier blending.
- Pour in 1 tablespoon of honey or maple syrup and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Add a tiny pinch of salt to enhance all the other flavors.
- Start your blender on low speed and gradually increase to high speed. Blend for 30 to 45 seconds until smooth and pudding-like with no visible oat chunks.
- Check the texture and if it’s too thick, add a splash more milk and blend again; if too thin, add another tablespoon of oats and blend again.
- Pour the blended oats into your favorite breakfast bowl while the mixture is still fresh.
- Top with granola, fresh berries, a drizzle of nut butter, or any toppings you like, then serve immediately.
Notes
Freeze ripe bananas in advance by slicing and storing them in a freezer bag for up to three months. Use rolled oats for best texture and avoid instant oats for a creamier consistency. Adjust sweetness or milk quantity to your preference before serving.
